Private watermarking
The watermark is drawn as new page content over the selected pages. Your PDF and watermark image are processed entirely in your browser.
Choosing a readable watermark
For a draft or review mark, start with moderate opacity and check it over both light and dark page areas. Diagonal text is noticeable without covering an entire line of content. A transparent PNG logo usually blends more cleanly than a JPG with a solid background. Position and image size are applied proportionally, which helps the mark stay consistent across mixed page sizes.
What a visible watermark cannot do
A watermark communicates status or ownership, but it is not encryption or permanent rights control. A capable PDF editor may remove added page content. The output is also a rewritten PDF, which can invalidate digital signatures. Keep the signed original, and use Password Protect PDF separately when the file also needs an opening password.
