How merging works here

This merge tool uses JavaScript in your browser to copy pages from each source PDF into a new document in the order you choose. The PDF bytes are not sent to our server. Pages are not rasterized or intentionally recompressed, so selectable text and embedded images are preserved. Learn how to verify the result in our complete guide to merging PDF files.

When merging is the right tool

Use this tool when complete PDFs need to become one document, such as invoices for a month or chapters from several sources. The first-page previews help you check the sequence before merging. If every page is already in one PDF and only needs a new order, use the Organize PDF tool instead.

What the new file does not combine

The output is a newly saved PDF made from the copied pages. Source metadata, bookmark trees, attachments, and digital signatures are not deliberately combined. A signature from an input should not be treated as a signature on the merged result. Review navigation and forms after downloading when those features matter, then use Edit PDF Metadata if the combined file needs a new title or author.

In what order are my PDFs merged?

Files are merged in the order they appear in the grid below. Drag a file by its handle to reorder it.

Is there a limit to how many files I can merge?

No hard limit is enforced. Merging many large files at once can use a lot of your device's memory, so very large batches may be slower or struggle on phones and older devices.

Will merging affect the quality of my PDFs?

No. Merging combines the original pages exactly as they are, with no recompression or rasterization. Text stays selectable and images stay at their original quality.

What happens if one of my files is password protected or corrupted?

For a password-protected PDF, you'll be asked for its password locally before it is added. If several files are locked, they are requested one at a time. Corrupted or invalid files are rejected with a clear message while valid files remain available.
