How rotating works here
Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser, no files are ever sent to a server. Rotating a page updates its rotation setting without rasterizing its text or images. The browser then saves a new PDF, so the byte size may differ even though page quality is not reduced. Page previews are rendered locally too, so you can see how each page will look before applying the change.
Common rotation tasks
Rotate individual pages when a scanned packet contains one sideways sheet, or select several pages before using the toolbar controls. With nothing selected, Rotate all changes the complete document. Reset all clears every pending turn, so it is useful when the preview no longer matches the orientation you intended.
What rotation cannot fix
Rotation works in 90-degree steps. It does not straighten a slightly skewed scan, crop margins, or move content within a page. For moving, deleting, or duplicating pages as well as rotating them, use Organize PDF. Check the downloaded file in the viewer you plan to print from, especially when portrait and landscape pages are mixed.
Frequently asked questions
Does rotating a PDF reduce quality?
No. Rotating a page only changes how it is oriented when viewed or printed, nothing about the page content is redrawn or recompressed, so text, images, and quality all stay exactly as they were.
Will the file size change after rotating?
It can change because the browser saves a new PDF. The rotation itself is only a page setting and does not resample or recompress the page content.
Can I rotate some pages and leave others as they are?
Yes. Click the rotate icons on any page to turn just that page, other pages are left untouched unless you use Rotate all.
How do I undo a rotation?
Click Reset all to put every page back to how it started, or keep clicking a page's rotate icon, four clicks in the same direction brings it back to the original orientation.
