Terms of Service
Last updated: August 20, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of localpdflab.com (the "Site") and the PDF tools it provides (the "Service"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. What the Service is
LocalPDFLab provides free, browser-based tools for working with PDF files, including merging, splitting, organizing, rotating, compressing, converting to and from image formats, adding page numbers, and adding watermarks. All processing happens locally in your browser. We do not receive, store, or have access to the files you process.
2. No account, no file retention
The Service does not require you to create an account, and we do not store your files after you close the tab or navigate away. Any file you upload into a tool exists only in your browser's memory for the duration of that session.
3. Your responsibilities
By using the Service, you agree that:
- You have the legal right to process the files you use with the Service, for example because you own them, created them, or have permission from the rights holder
- You will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including to infringe on someone else's copyright, alter documents for fraudulent purposes, or process material you do not have the right to handle
- You are responsible for keeping your own backup of any file before and after processing it
- You will not attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the Service beyond what is permitted by the open source licenses of the underlying libraries
4. Eligibility
You should be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use the Service on your own. If you are younger than that, you should only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
5. Intellectual property
The Site's design, branding, logo, and original written content belong to LocalPDFLab, except where noted otherwise. The Service is built in part on open source software; those components remain subject to their own licenses. Nothing in these Terms gives us any ownership over the files you process, we never receive them in the first place, so there is nothing for us to claim any rights to.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or produce a result that is fit for every possible use. PDF processing can occasionally produce unexpected results depending on how the original file was created; always check your output before relying on it, especially for anything important.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LocalPDFLab will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of files, or loss of business, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Since no files pass through our servers, we have no ability to recover a file you have lost locally.
8. Advertising
LocalPDFLab is a free service intended to be supported by advertising. Ads, once introduced, will be clearly distinguishable from the Site's own content and tools. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements shown on the Site, which are served and controlled by our advertising partners.
9. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites, for example in blog posts or comparison articles. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
10. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may add, change, or remove tools, and may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, for example for maintenance, abuse prevention, or because a tool is being retired. Since there are no accounts, this section mainly covers our ability to restrict access to the Site itself if needed, for example in response to abusive automated traffic.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Country / State], without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.
13. Contact us
Questions about these Terms can be sent through ourcontact LocalPDFLab.
