Crop visually or enter exact margins

Use the draggable rectangle for quick visual trimming, then refine the result with top, right, bottom, and left margin values. Measurements can be shown in millimetres, inches, or PDF points. Aspect presets help produce consistent square, A4, or Letter-shaped visible areas without converting the page into an image.

Crop one page or a complete document

Every page keeps its own crop selection. You can copy the active selection to all pages or to a range such as 1-5, 8. Auto-trim works page by page, which is more accurate for scans with uneven margins. The page strip also provides rotation, duplication, and reversible deletion before export.

What PDF cropping changes

A PDF page has a visible crop boundary. This tool changes that boundary while retaining the existing text, vectors, and images, so the output stays sharp at any zoom level. Content beyond the boundary is hidden rather than permanently removed. Cropping is therefore useful for margins, scanner borders, print marks, and presentation, but not for removing confidential information. Saving a modified PDF can invalidate an existing digital signature.

Cropping, compression, and redaction are different

Cropping changes the visible page area. Compress PDF targets file size, while Redact PDF permanently removes selected visible information. Choose the tool that matches the result you need.

Private browser processing

Your PDF is opened, previewed, analysed, and saved on your device. There is no document upload and no server processing. Large files still require browser memory, so the preview loads nearby pages as you scroll instead of rendering the complete document at full size at once.

Frequently asked questions

Does cropping permanently remove hidden content?

No. Standard PDF cropping changes the visible page boundary. Content outside that boundary normally remains inside the file and may be recovered with a capable PDF editor. Use a redaction tool when information must be permanently removed.

Will cropping reduce the PDF file size?

Usually not. Cropping hides content outside the visible page area instead of deleting its underlying text, images, or drawing instructions. Use Compress PDF when reducing the download size is the main goal.

Can I crop different pages differently?

Yes. Select a page in the thumbnail strip or scroll to it, adjust its crop rectangle, and repeat for other pages. You can also copy one crop to every page or to a custom page range.

Can the tool remove white scanner margins automatically?

Yes. Auto-trim examines the rendered page locally, finds content inside white or near-white borders, and adds a small safety margin. You can inspect and adjust every result before downloading.

Does cropping lower text or image quality?

No. The final PDF is not converted into page images. The tool changes PDF page boundaries, so selectable text, vector graphics, and original image data retain their existing quality.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Preview rendering, margin detection, page changes, and PDF creation happen in your browser. Your document is not sent to LocalPDFLab or another processing server.

Can I rotate, duplicate, or delete pages while cropping?

Yes. Each thumbnail includes rotate, duplicate, and delete controls. Deleted pages can be restored until you create the final PDF, and the tool prevents deletion of every page.
